Gender and Development Program
Taraqee being conscious of the rigid gender patterns in Balochistan has established a Gender and Development (GAD) Program to promote knowledge in gender issues and to support action on enhancing gender equality and women’s status. GAD Program has two following units:

Gender Advocacy Unit
The Unit aims to provide a support base for a proactive response to gender issues through awareness-raising and capacity building. Some of the activities undertaken by Gender Advocacy Unit include development of Gender Equality Strategy, gender sensitization trainings, seminars, quarterly newsletter and workshops on issues related to gender.

Objectives
1. Strengthen gender mechanisms across program planning and implementation
2. Educate government officials, local groups, community leaders, students and NGOs through workshops/seminars, presentation and publication
3. Facilitate advocacy, create awareness, mobilize people and initiate research and program support activities at grass root, regional and national levels to promote gender equality
4. Share strategies, resources with partners and counterparts to ensure female participation in civil society activities.
5. Create a platform to ensure women’s participation in different strategic gender forums.

1. Training of Master Trainers on gender sensitization
2. TF staff training on gender sensitization & Sexual Harassment
3. Development of community gender sensitization training module
4. News letter
5. 5 Years Gender Formulation Strategy Developed.
